Sri Ramachandra University was established in the year 1985 as part of the Sri Ramachandra Education & Health Trust under the leadership of Shri N.P.V. Ramasamy Udayar. Ever since its inception, the institute grew from strength to strength gaining the status of a “Deemed University” in September, 1994 under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (SRMC) is a tertiary care multi-specialty university hospital. Today, SRMC is a leader in healthcare for patients who walk through its portals daily and many more who seek remote healthcare through its connectivity and telemedicine services. With around 600 beds, 100 ICU beds, 16 operating rooms and a campus spread over 175 acres, SRMC is one of the largest private healthcare facility in South Asia.
