The department of Anesthesiology at Sri Ramachandra Medical College was established in the year 1994 by late Prof.(Mrs) Vijayalakshmi Kamat. It has now grown into a vibrant, ISO 9001:2000 certified academic department providing comprehensive anesthesiology, critical care and acute pain services. It includes round the clock anesthesiology services to general, cardiac and neuro surgical cases spanning over 25 state of the art operating rooms. The department runs a full fledged post graduate education programme and is also one of the very few institutes in the country offering super specialty courses namely DM Cardiac anesthesiology and DM Critical Care.
