Exemption from All-India Entrance Examination requirement
Non-resident Indian Students and Foreign students are exempted from taking the All
India Entrance Examinations conducted by Sri Ramachandra University for admission.
As students from countries other than India come from different backgrounds and from
a wide range of countries graduating at different times each year, an examination for
them becomes a difficult task. However the applications are carefully scrutinized to
assess the relative merits of the candidates before being selected for admission.
If an NRI or Foreign student wants to take the entrance examinations he/she can seek the
application for the same from the Registrar.
As the number of seats in this category is limited, parents and students are encouraged
to contact the Registrar’s office at the earliest possibility. On the basis of the information
provided in the format given, a process of screening will take place and the eligibility will
be assessed. Once accepted to the course the candidate will be notified by e-mail/letter
regarding the status.
Process of application and admission
As the first step the university expects all the prospective students to send their high
school transcripts of 10th, 11th and 12th grades to the attention of the Registrar
by mail or fax. The same can be sent as e-mail attachments also (Please do not send
original documents at this stage). All original documents will be verified and
accepted only at the time of admission. If the student is in the middle of 12th grade,
the transcripts should include all the courses taken as of the date of sending the
information. The final original transcripts and the High School Diploma have to be
submitted on the day of admission.
If any additional information or reference letters are required at this stage the Registrar
will contact the candidates through a letter or e-mail.
Starting the Fourth week of April each year, the process of sending provisional
admission papers to the selected candidates will begin.
Those students who receive the letter of acceptance are expected to send the first Installment payment within 20 days of the date of notification.
The payment must be made as a Draft or Cashier’s Check drawn in favour of ‘The Registrar’, Sri Ramachandra University and sent to the attention of the Registrar
by air-mail Speed-post. Unless this payment is received it will not be possible to hold
the seat for the candidate beyond the specified time.
Candidates are expected to successfully complete their 12th grade and maintain their
grade averages to gain confirmed admission. On the day of admission, a formal detailed
application form filled in with particulars about local guardians, contact numbers
if any etc. will have to be submitted along with passport size photographs and other
necessary credentials for the office records.
On arrival at the college on the day of admission, all students will first report to the
Deputy Registrar, Academic (Mr. A. Subramaniyan) who will help the new students with
all these formalities and also assign the hostel accommodation. His office will
assist the candidates in processing the clearance from the Health Department,
Government of India and also the necessary papers required for student visa. His
office is located in the ground floor of the main college building.
Adjoining his office is the office of Mr. A. Gerard, NRI/Foreign student’s coordinator
who will provide the necessary help for the students and parents to settle down in the
campus. Students who have the PIO cards, OCI cards (or) students multiple visas
could seek his help in processing the resident permit requirement for all foreign
passport holders whose stay in India is expected to exceed 180 days. The offices of the
Registrar and the Dean are in the same block and parents and students can seek their
help when needed.
