  1. 1985 - Inauguration of Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute: MBBS Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) course was started.

  2. 1993 - New courses started: Diploma in Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing, BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) & B. Pharm.

  3. 1994 - Conferment of Deemed University status (September 1994)

  4. 1995 - Postgraduate courses started: M.D. General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics &Anaesthesiology, M.S. General Surgery & Orthopaedics

  5. Postgraduate Diploma courses started: Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Child Health, Anaesthesiology & Orthopaedics.

  6. Undergraduate courses started: B.D.S. (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), B.Sc. (Allied Health Sciences) & Bachelor in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.

  7. 1996 - 40,000 square feet centrally air-conditioned University library known as Harvard Ramachandra Learning Centre was inaugurated; Ph.D. Programme started

    Higher Speciality and Postgraduate Degree Courses started: D.M.Cardiology, M.D.Radio-Diagnosis, M.S Ophthalmology & Otorhinolaryngology

    Postgraduate Diploma Courses: Diploma in Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology & Medical Radio- Diagnosis.

  8. 1997 - Other job oriented Courses started: Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Nutrition and Certificate in Hospital Ward Technician Course.

    Inter institutional Alliance with Harvard Medical international, Boston, USA was established.

    Genetics Research Cell and Basic Research Cell was inaugurated.

    Medical Education Unit was established.

  9. 1998 - M.Sc, (Human Genetics) Degree course was started.

  10. 1999 - Higher Speciality courses started: D.M.Neurology, M.Ch.Neuro Surgery, Genito-Urinary Surgery & Cardio-Thoracic Surgery

    M.Sc. Nursing& M.P.T. (Master of Physiotherapy) & Diploma in Family Health.

  11. 2000 - Postgraduate Courses started: M.D. Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology Community Medicine & Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy and Diploma in Dermatology, Venereology &Leprosy

    Postgraduate Dental Courses: M.D.S. Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Oral Pathology, Periodontics, Oral Medicine and Radiology & Prosthodontcis

    Postgraduate Diploma in Accident and Emergency Medicine, M.Phil (Clinical Psychology) & B.Sc.(Emergency and Trauma Care Technology).

  12. 2001 - M.D.S (Pedodontics), M.B.A. (Hospital & Health Systems Management), M.Sc.Biotechnology course.

  13. 2002 - B.Sc. Nursing for Trained Nurses; Higher Speciality & Postgraduate degree courses: D.M. (Nephrology) & M.D. Accident and Emergency Medicine.

  14. 2003 - M.Pharm Pharmacy Practice, M.Sc.lndustrial Hygiene and Safety & Postgraduate Certificate Course in Industrial Health

  15. 2004 - Higher Speciality courses: D.M.Medical Gastroenterology, Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiology & Critical Care M.Ch.Surgical Gastroenterology, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery & Post Doctoral Certificate Course in Interventional Vascular & Neuro Radiology.

    M.Sc.Bioinformatics, M.Sc.Neuroscience, M.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology & Master in Audiology & Speech- Language Pathology.

  16. 2005 - Higher Speciality & Postgraduate courses started: M.Ch.Paediatric Surgery, M.D.Psychiatry, Postgraduate Diploma in Psychiatry, Postgraduate and Diploma in Public Health M.Pharm Pharmaceutics, M.Pharm Quality Assurance, M. Pharm Pharmacognosy.

  17. 2006 - Change of name/nomenclature of “Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute (Deemed University)” as “SRI RAMACHANDRA UNIVERSITY” with effect from 04.12.2006 in accordance with the UGC Notification No.F.6-(ll)/2006 (CPP-l) dated 13.09.2006. However, the name of the constituent Medical College continues to be “Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute”

    Postgraduate courses in Basic Medical Sciences and Allied Health Sciences started: M.Sc. Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology & Applied Molecular Biology, M.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology and M.Sc. Renal Sciences and Dialysis Technology

    Sri Ramachandra Centre for Distance Education was established.

  18. 2007 - Fellowship and Masters courses were started: Fellowship Programme in Neonatology, M.Sc. Medicinal Chemistry, M.Sc. Clinical Nutrition

    B.Sc. Biomedical Sciences and B.Sc. Optometry

    Sri Ramachandra University Central Research Facility was established.

    Sri Ramachandra University became a “MRCP Part 2 Clinical Examination Centre” for the MRCP qualification of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, Royal College of Physicians of London.

    The WHO designated Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute as a WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Occupational Health.

    Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) accredited the Biodosimetry lab of the Department of Human Genetics for assessment of personnel radiation exposure and related studies.

    Approval of the Distance Education Council (IGNOU) was obtained for Sri Ramachandra Centre for Distance Education

    The tenth anniversary of collaborative programme with Harvard Medical international was celebrated during July.

  19. 2008 - M.D. Family Health, Pharm. D. (Doctor of Pharmacy) Degree Course, Pharm.D. (Post Baccalaureate) Doctor of Pharmacy Degree Course, Fellowship Programme in Otology, Postgraduate Certificate Course in Endoscopic Rhinology & Postgraduate Diploma course in Medical Secretarial Science
