Facilities available in the department

1. Frarris Eagle Computerised PFT machine which includes Spirometry with TLC and Diffusion (Installed on 29/10/05)
   
   
2. ZAN – GPI 3.00 (Installed on 30/8/07)
   
   
3. Spirobank (Hand held simple Spirometry). With the help of Spirobank PFT is done at bedside also.

II. Flexible fibreoptic bronchoscopy service

2. Video scope model BF type IT-160 Olympus (installed on 21/3/07)

FOB done for both the outpatients and inpatients in the Bronchoscopy room which is fully equipped Olympus bronchoscope with brush and punch biopsy facility, oxygen supply, emergency medicines. Doctor is assisted by trained Staff Nurse and Respiratory Technologists during the procedure. Bedside Bronchoscopy is done whenever indicated in Intensive care units.

III. Rehabilitaiton Center

This center aims at improving quality of life in COPD/ bronchial asthma patients. These patients are taught proper technique of using inhalers and breathing exercise by well trained Respiratory Technologists. Periodically education programmes on Bronchial Asthma, COPD,Tuberculosis are held for the benefit of the patient. Patient were educated about the hazards of smoking and other tobacco use and were given medical advice regarding stopage of using tobacco.

IV. Carbon Mono-Oxide Monitoring

For measuring Carbon mono oxide level.

V. TB Cell

TB CELL is function in our out patient department implement RNTCP and to distribute Anti TB Drugs (DOTS). At present about 20 patient are getting drugs regularly from our centre.
