The department offers a 24 x 7 efficient trauma service and provides state of art modern trauma management to seriously poly traumatized victims at the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre. Isolated Skeletal Injuries are the main stay in the field of skeletal trauma. Qualified consultants and senior consultants are available round the clock to attend to such emergencies.
The department runs an efficient ambulatory care service both for its free patients as well as on the private side on payment catering to about 200 – 220 patients a day.
The department also provides a cost effective inpatient and operative services to patients needing admission to the hospital.
The department is a renowned centre for Joint Replacement surgery and specializing in Hip, Knee and Elbow Replacement.
Under the division of spine surgery, difficult spine problems and deformity correction are under taken.
It has also started a separate division of Paediatric Orthopaedics dealing with musculoskeletal problems of the children.
Special clinics have been started to give focused attention on patients afflicted with arthritis, spinal deformity and back ache and paediatric orthopaedics.
