Chennai, A generation of successful medical education in Sri Ramachandra University came to fruition today with the first (1985) batch students Amudan and Thulasi bringing in their son Arun Sriram to join the MEBS course at the commencement of the 24 academic session. Dr.Amudan a radiologist and Dr.Thulasi a gynecologist shared their experiences of the ambiance, infrastructure and the exceIlence in medical education at SRU with the incoming medical and dental students. Pallavi Khanna an MEBS intern who bagged four gold medals for the distinctions achieved said she joined SRU to become a doctor but today she is being shaped into a good healer and a flue human being. Inaugurating the course the Chancellor Thiru.V.R.Venkataachalam said Sri Rarnachandra University with its constant pursuit to bring excellence in education, healthcare and research provides the best opportunity for budding doctors who with their hard work and dedication should bring pride and happiness to their parents and their Alma Mater. The Vice Chancellor Prof. S. Rangaswami, Dean of Faculties Prof. K. V. Somsundaram, and Controller of Examinations Prof.Vijayalakshmi Thanasekaran exhorted the students and parents to use the facilities available in SRU to become great doctors like many of their predecessors.
