Chennai, Mr.S.R.Jangid, Commissioner of Police, Chennai Suburban Police today gave away prizes and certificates to Hospital Ward Technicians at the 14 Annual Graduation Ceremony at Sri Ramachandra University. Speaking on the occasion he described Ward Technicians as the very back bone of medical treatment. He also commended SRU for running this course which helped the socially underprivileged people to associate themselves with medical treatment. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor Prof.S.Rangaswami said ward technicians play a very crucial role in treating patients and history is replete with examples where they have made exemplary contribution to patient care. Mr.V.R.Venkataachalam, Chancellor, honoured the distinguished guest and gave away the special prizes to meritorious students. The Dean of Faculties Prof.K.V.Somasundaram said it was the visicn of the founder Chancellor Mr.N.P.V.Ramasamy Udayar to throw open healthcare and medical education to the poor that has created over 1100 ward technicians who are serving leading hospitals in India and abroad.
