ELECTED PRESIDENT OF INDIAN SPEECH & HEARING ASSOCIATION

Prof. Roopa Nagarajan, HOD, Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, Sri Ramachandra University has been elected President of the Indian Speech and Hearing Association (ISHA), a professional body of speech pathologists and audiologists. It provides continuing education for professionals, holds conferences and publishes a journal called Journal of Indian Speech and Hearing Association.

Assuming charge as President at the 40th Annual conference of the Association in Mangalore, Prof. Roopa Nagarajan asked ISHA to strengthen advocacy and take leadership in promoting national level interventional programmes. At the conference a strong demand was made for setting up a Speech and Hearing Council at the national level.
